About Us
For The Wild is a slow media studio dedicated to land-based protection, co-liberation, and intersectional storytelling. Founded in 2014 from a deep discomfort with the status quo and a longing to explore what exists beyond dominant culture and consumer conditioning, For The Wild emerged from a commitment to the living world and a desire to nurture more reciprocal ways of being.
Rooted in a paradigm shift away from human supremacy, endless growth, and consumerism, our work brings forward impactful stories, deep listening, and meaningful forms of sense-making as balms for these times. As we dream toward a world grounded in justice, reciprocity, and ecological belonging, we create spaces for reflection, relationship, and imagining what becomes possible beyond the confines of dominant culture.
The For The Wild podcast was our first project and remains at the heart of the organization, creating space for critical conversation and relationship-building among people working toward ecological renewal, Indigenous sovereignty, land protection, social justice, and collective liberation. Through conversations with activists, organizers, theologians, artists, land protectors, and scientists, we connect ideas across fields and make research, lived experience, and possibilities for Earth renewal more accessible.
For The Wild is a small, female-led studio of dedicated creators and lifelong learners. Our work is rooted in relationship, storytelling, education, land-based restoration, and social reconciliation. We believe that nurturing our relationships with one another and the living world can help us build the community and capacity needed to meet the challenges of our time.
For more than a decade, we have curated each series as an enduring body of work: thoughtful, deeply researched, and grounded in the voices and experiences of those shaping new possibilities for the future. The podcast is syndicated through the Pacifica Network and the National Federation of Community Broadcasters and airs on independent radio stations across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, France, and beyond.
This kind of media matters. It is the footing of our generative movement building. We want to continue to nourish our growing community with this content and we need your help. Our studio needs to raise funds to continue doing this work in a good way.
Our Slow Media Ethos
The past ten years of interviews have shown us how media should be slow, rooted, and steadying, and this shift to slow media honors all that we have learned from years of beautiful conversations. We are currently working on print, film, long form media, deeply focused podcast series, and in-person events that center community and connection. We’re embracing content that is rooted and resourced rather than reactionary to offer perspectives based on lived, tangible experiences. Instead of submitting to a culture of constant productivity, we are focusing on moving at Earth’s pace. We’re answering to nature, spirit, and community.
