This 300-page strange and unruly anthology invites you into a cyclical world alive with sporific beings, curious elements, ritual remembering, and fragments of wisdom. It is offered as an altar or companion, a book to carry into the forest, to muddy, dog-ear, and return to again and again.
Within the pages, you'll meet the voices of Bayo Akomolafe, adrienne maree brown, Tyson Yunkaporta, Sylvia V. Linsteadt, Pinar Sinopoulos-Lloyd, brontë velez, Lyla June, Jarod K. Anderson, Jacqueline Suskin, Dori Midnight, and many more luminaries, each tracing lines of living reciprocity between humans, creatures, elements, and Earth.
Slow Earth Companion gathers these voices and visions, shaped over a decade of deep listening and relational conversation, and sets them loose in prose, prayer, poetry, and practice.
Entwined throughout are sensorial drawings by Krista Dragomer that hum with elemental entanglement and more-than-human presence.

Upcoming Audio Project
Wanderings with Aotearoa
A walking audio series in partnership with RIVER, Biome Trust, and Creative Visions.
Rooted in the soil and guided by ancestral presence, Wanderings with Aotearoa is an immersive audio series exploring the relationship between law, land, and lineage. Moving through sacred and storied terrain, from Tāneatua to Te Urewera, Ohiwa Harbour to Wellington, this series invites listeners into a deep encounter with Māori cosmology, political resistance, and the slow work of reconnection. Led by Erin Matariki Carr (Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Awa), a constitutional strategist, legal thinker, and storyteller, Wanderings blends personal narrative, guest conversations, field recordings into a visceral, place-based listening experience.
For individuals who want to support this work: We’re seeking funding for the post-production of this series. Support of any amount is truly appreciated—you can easily contribute here.
If you're an individual funder, business, or organization interested in exploring a larger contribution, reach out to us at connect@forthewild.world.
Independent media shapes our imaginations.
It can root us in what truly matters, or pull us toward disconnection and distrust. At For The Wild, we believe in media as a force for remembering, for reimagining, and for weaving deeper connection with each other and the Earth.
We’re committed to keeping For The Wild’s podcasts freely-accessible as possible. That means resisting the pressure to over-commercialize our airtime just to stay afloat. To continue offering weekly episodes grounded in depth, integrity, and vision, we ask for your support. This work would not be possible without our community. Each episode is a collective effort carried by the care, creativity, and generosity of listeners like you.
If this podcast has moved you—if the voices we uplift and the questions we ask feel vital—we invite you to come along with us. Become a monthly supporter on Patreon or make a one-time or recurring contribution via PayPal.
Thank you for helping us protect this space of imagination, inquiry, and belonging.
