Content Creation, Communications and Community Strategist
30 Hours/week. Compensation commensurate with experience.
For The Wild is seeking the right candidate to stand at the helm of our digital content creation, social media and communications strategy and roll out. As we continue to grow, our communications needs are also expanding.
The right candidate will have strong knowledge of For The Wild’s current brand along with the organizational voice and style of our current social media.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Strong writing skills
Previous experience writing in a forward facing context for another organization exploring intersectional issues or for print, preferred.
Strong graphic production skills
Design experience preferred.
Professional and artistic video editing skills
We need someone who has the ability to cut shorter videos for social media and can edit other footage in a way that is creative, beautiful and cinematic, as well as message and story-driven.
A service mindset
Social media and other communications at For The Wild are the way that we engage with our listeners and our community so being at the front of our communications means in part, being a community-tender and finding ways to support increased engagement.
Communications and social enterprise savvy
This role requires a strong degree of previous experience. We’re looking for someone who has had 5+ years of previous experience in successful marketing and social media for a comparable organization and who is prepared to work with us to on creative and strategic planning to take For The Wild into the next chapter. Strong knowledge of best practices for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube is essential to the role, as are strong skills in email newsletter creation/development.
Essential Duties Include:
Developing relevant content topics to reach FTW’s audience.
Creating, curating, and managing all published content (images, video, written, audio/podcast promotion, Patreon community.)
Monitoring, listening and responding to social media users in a social way while cultivating relationships.
Conducting online advocacy and opening a stream for cross-pollination with allies.
Developing and expanding community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
Monitoring online reviews and create new opportunities to build online reputation.
Becoming an advocate for FTW in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
Demonstrating ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan and drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
Staying up to date on key issues in environmental and social justice spaces so that FTW can lend its support/platform to uplift our allies.
Monitoring trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.

Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media.
