Spirit Weavers is a five day celebration of cultures past which represented basic human skills to ensure the survival of the body and the soul. Fermenting foods, weaving and dying fabrics, creating ceremony, sharing tea, and making plant medicines- singing songs, together as a community- these were the common knowledge ways and part of the simple pleasures of a life lived in balance and in harmony with nature. Let us gather together as Women and share our skills in remembrance of the beauty path and an honoring of our Ancestors.
I will be teaching a class on Mushroom Wisdom. This class covers the many uses of mushrooms, including maintaining and restoring the health of people and forests, cleansing polluted land and water, nourishing the body and satisfying the tastebuds, rituals and spiritual uses, dyes and fibers, etc. We will go on a mushroom walk to learn some habitats and behaviors of wild mushrooms, with tips on discovering and identifying them (and perhaps other wild foods and medicines).
We will all make a “mushroom log” to take home and experience the fungal cycle, ending in a beautiful flush of edible mushrooms. A sacred mushroom tea made from reishi with manuka honey will be shared to keep immunity strong around the camp.
